Year in Review

I must start by saying that I'm pretty proud of myself for blogging this year.  I had a few weeks where I slacked, but mostly, I kept my promise.  And for the most part, I had an inspirational post EVERY Saturday.  I'm glad I stuck with it.

With that being said, I AM NOT promising to stay on top of things this next year.  Especially the first part of the year... it's going to be a hectic one.

But I wanted to share some of the wonderful, crazy, scary, and amazing things that happened this past year - through pictures.

If you have followed my blog, you'll have seen most of these.  And in that case, you can reflect back with me!

Big News!!!

There's some news I can finally tell you about!!

After almost 3 years on the market, our house has finally sold!!!  We are under contract and closing is set for January 17th!  We are beyond excited.  This was perfect timing.  And even though I stressed and stressed for years, it worked out perfectly... just the way it was supposed to.  We had a young couple approach us (about a month after taking it off the market) who were interested in buying it.  They weren't sure we'd be willing to sell since we had taken it off the market.  But SURE WE WERE!!  We didn't want to get our hopes up until we knew it was a done deal... and now, it pretty much is!  Contract's been signed, inspection's been done, and now we're just waiting to sign and hand over the keys!

We waited until a few days after Christmas to tell Jase, not knowing how he would react.  But once he saw us packing up our Christmas decorations, along with pictures off the wall, knick knacks laying around the house, and getting things labeled and marked for moving, he was very curious.
"Why are we getting rid of all of our things?" he asked.  So we had to tell him.  He's only 3, so he doesn't completely understand, but he knows we're going to live with Granny and that we're going to get a brand new house!  And he's excited.  It's not going to be as difficult for him as it is for me.  Every time I start to box things up, I get a little teary-eyed.  There's lots of memories in this little house.  The past 7 years have been amazing here, and we will definitely miss it.  But we are looking forward to a new adventure and a new home with new memories!!!

So that's what has been going on with us, and what we'll be up to for the next few weeks.  We are packing, packing, packing... but only a little at a time.  And they won't really let me do too much, so I have to wait for my hubby to help me.

A few things I'm looking forward to:
*No more house payment!!! (at least for a few months)
*Not having to clean a whole house by myself!!!
*Having help with Jase and Jett. (when he arrives)

I know it will be tough at times, but it will be worth it!

I'll update you later on our living situation and how things go this next month.

In the meantime, I hope you have a WONDERFUL New Year full of blessings!!!

Week 30 Update

Wow!!  Time is flying!

10 more weeks to go.... or less, hopefully!

Baby this week:
-Jett should now be measuring about 15 or 16 inches long and weighing almost 3 pounds!
-Babycenter.com doesn't give too many interesting facts this week, so this update is a little boring.
-His eyesight is continuing to develop, though.. as well as his hearing.
-He definitely responds to the sound of Daddy's and Jase's voices!  He kicks and punches like nobody's business!

That's about it.  30 week checkup tomorrow, so I'll fill you in on how that goes.

Holiday Baking

I don't have too many things to make this year (I think people feel that I'm crippled, therefore they haven't asked me to do much).  But I'm excited about the things I DO have to make.

Today, it's Dump Cake.

This is actually for Friday night's party, but I have to make it ahead because we have a busy Friday planned.

Then, Saturday, it's Twice-Baked Potato Casserole.

And for Sunday morning, Lemon/Blueberry Breakfast Cake.  I'm very excited about this one.  Hoping it turns out to taste as good as it looks!

I'm also going to try out a peanut brittle recipe (microwave style).  We'll see how that goes!

Happy Baking!

Week 29 Update

Lots of growing going on inside my belly.. and I can feel it!

Jett has been making me extremely uncomfortable.  I remember feeling this way with Jase, however I didn't have a 3-year-old running around to take care of.  So I did a lot more relaxing on the couch.  This time, there's not much time for resting.  Every time I sit down, he needs me (or the phone rings).  But he's being a great helper.  He knows Mommy is tired.

Just a few short weeks and my body will be back to normal.... well, maybe not normal, but at least there won't be a little alien swimming around and practicing karate on my insides.

Baby this week:
-Jett now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a little over 15 inches long.  Doesn't sound like much, especially since he will probably triple his weight in the next 11 weeks.
-His muscles and lungs are continuing to develop, and his head is growing larger to accommodate his developing brain.
-He needs lots of nutrients right now to help him grow and develop, so I've been watching my diet.  I'm also dealing with blood sugar issues, so the diet is mandatory.

Mommy this week:
-They say heartburn will take center stage now.... I can't imagine it getting any worse.  Some days are better than others, but most days it's a KILLER!!  I should buy stock in Tums.

Santa in Route

This past Saturday, Santa made his annual appearance in Bagley, Alabama.  We love seeing him, along with the volunteer fire department who serve our little town.

Kinda sad this may be the last year we get to see this.

Details coming soon.
