Review - Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush

I'm a little behind the bandwagon when it comes to these blushes.  I've read/heard so much about them, but with mixed reviews.  Some people love them.  Others think they don't do their job well enough.

So here's my thoughts and first impression:

I purchased these 2 colors.

#45 - Orchid Hush (left)
#50 - Plum Wine (right)

(with flash)

In this picture below, you can see the texture.  It truly is "bouncy."  It has a very soft texture, similar to a mousse.  I was a fan of the Dream Mousse blushes, and these feel similar.  I've heard some say they apply them with a brush, but I used my finger and I think it might work better.  They are very
blend-able.

I've heard many people say that these blushes do not have good color pay off.  That's why I purposely chose Plum Wine.  I would not normally be drawn to a blush with that much color, but I wanted to see how it would perform.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Now, I am very fair-skinned.  It shows up great on me.  But I can't speak for those with darker complexions.  I THINK it would work for most skin tones, though.

As for Orchid Hush, it is EXTREMELY soft.  Like, it barely shows up.  I had to really work at it, applying several layers, to see the color.  I had a feeling it would be this way.  It was one of the softest options.  And there was a reason I chose it.

I've been trying to decide on a product to purchase as a highlighter.  However, I didn't want something with lots of glitter.  When I saw this shade, I thought it MIGHT work as a highlighter for my fair skin.  And it does a pretty good job!

I'm really liking the combination.

 (with and without flash)

My overall opinion:

I'm pleased with my purchase!

I have only worn them for a few hours, so I can't comment on staying power.  However, I'm sure you could set them with a powder if you were concerned about them wearing off.

I shopped at Walgreen's.  These products were Buy One Get One 1/2 Off.
So not a bad deal.
I'm not sure if I'll end up trying other colors.  I might just stick to these.
I'm liking the idea of cream blushes during the summer months, and I'm happy with my find.

I think these will do a great job!

3 Months

Today is this little man's birthday.
These 3 months have FLOWN BY, and I am so excited for the next 3!
There's a lot going on with our little family (being homeless is at the top of the list) and we are so excited about our future!  We can't wait to see some dirt moving.

But that's another story.... this post is all about Jett.

Some of his 3 month milestones:

-Not sure exactly how much he weighs, but I know it's over 13 pounds.  He's a chunk.
Pretty sure he's going to be bigger than big brother.

-That is probably due to the fact that he LOVES to eat!!!

-He is a happy baby!  He loves to smile.  If somebody's talking to him, he's smiling!

-He laughs out loud now!  So adorable.

-He can scoot across the floor on his belly.  I have a feeling he'll be rolling over before I know it!

-He's got much more neck support.  He also loves to stand and jump - just like his big brother did.  We bought a bouncer for Jase as soon as he could hold his head up.  And I think we'll be pulling it out pretty soon!

-He's sleeping great (except for the occasional crazy night).  Going to bed about 9:30 and sleeping until 7 or 8.  I'LL TAKE IT!!

-He had his first oatmeal bottle last night before bed.  He drank every last drop.  I can't wait 'til we're able to try new foods.... so much fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, baby boy!

counting chickens....

I was afraid to count my chickens before they hatched... but there's FINALLY some good news.

We are LAND OWNERS!!!

I am so ecstatic and ready to move on to the next phase - building a house.

I know this process will take some time, but I feel so much better now that we CAN ACTUALLY move forward.

So be looking for house posts... I know there will be lots of them in the near future!!!

Get thee behind me.....

... another "blah" day.

Threw myself a little pity party, had a nice little cry, and a hug from my hubby to make it all better.  He always puts me in my place.  Makes me realize that everything IS under control.

After an amazing worship service Sunday, and a word from Him just for me, I was ready to conquer the world.  But you know, the devil LOVES to stick his nose where he doesn't belong -  when you're at your best.  He was after me today.  But I gave him a swift kick in the rear.

He's not welcome here.

And a verse was brought to my attention... perfect timing.

"...if anything is excellent or praiseworth, think about such things."  Philippians 4:8

I have so much to be thankful for.

And I'm too blessed to be stressed.

Playing Catch Up...

I know it's way past Easter, but I'm just now getting around to posting about it.

And actually, I have lots to update you on, so let's get started:

(Disclaimer: The internet here is a little slow and hard to work with, so I can't upload too many pics.  So I'll post the most important ones.)

Easter was wonderful.  We spent the weekend singing about our Lord @ Christway's choir program, His Passion... Remembering the Cross.  Then, Easter Sunday was spent with our familes - eating, hiding eggs, and spending some much needed quality time together.

This Spring brought about a "first" for us: Ragball.  I'm sure you know how adorable this can be!  Jase wasn't too excited about playing at first and I was afraid we had wasted our (my mother's) money.  But after a few practices he decided he really loves it.  And he's pretty good!!

This past weekend, he was able to play pitcher in the game.  I was so proud!

This past weekend, we celebrated Jase's 4th birthday.  I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast!!!

We recently went to the zoo.  Jason took a day off of work, just for no reason.  I love those days.  We spent all day together.  Picnic at the zoo and some great family time.  I love these boys.  (Jett slept through the WHOLE thing, but I'm sure he had fun.)

And finally, our house news.  We had found a plan.  But we changed our minds.  Now, we've found another one.  It's a little smaller than the first, but much more affordable and I LOVE IT.  I've been studying the plan, placing furniture throughout the house in my brain.  Can't wait to see the dirt moving!

I'll have to wait a little longer, though.  We still haven't closed on our land.  But the lots are very close to being approved and our contract has been signed and submitted.  So we're sitting on GO.  Just waiting on the bank to make their move.  And it can't happen fast enough!

So that's a little update on what's been going on around here.

Wing It....

I love the look of winged eye liner, but I'm not always brave enough to pull it off.  I'll do a "semi wing" on certain occasions, but not for every day makeup looks.

One of my favorite YouTube beauty gurus, TiffanyD, posted a video today all about winged liner.

It's taken me a while to get the "wing" right.  But this video helped me tremendously!!  I tried it today, and it worked great!!

I've had this pen eyeliner, Revlon Colorstay, for quite some time and I have found it is the easiest to use.  I've tried others: gels, liquids, and pencils.  This Colorstay pen is so easy to use and lasts forever!

If you are into winged liner, I hope this helps you master the look!

How time flies...

4 years have passed.... since my life changed forever.

It's amazing how one little, bitty bundle can bring so much happiness and joy.

I love you, Jase.

You are my best (little) friend, the light of my life, and the reason I live.

I am so glad you call me Mommy....

and so proud to call you my son.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
