Boo.

We had a great Halloween....

but BOY, I sure was glad it was over.

2 days worth of trick-or-treating was enough to kill this Mommy (or at least make me go insane).

Jase did good, considering he's a 3-year-old who was hyped up on sugar.  But we definitely got out of our routine.

Now that everything is back to normal in our house, I thought I'd share our pictures with you!

Sunday evening, our church (Christway Church of God in Gardendale) hosted a Family Fall Festival.  We had free food, snowcones, popcorn, games, prizes, and LOTS OF CANDY!

I (along with some help from my family) entered the Trunk-or-Treat contest.  There were about 20 trunks and we WON 1ST PLACE!!!

I was so proud.  It was tough building a shark out of poster board all by myself.  But I think it turned out pretty great!

Fins Up!

Jase and his buddy, Brayden

Jase and his girlfriends, Kelsie and Alexis

Jase and his cousin Lilly - impossible to get them smiling together. :)

And even Buzz Lightyear made his appearance.  Jason says this is probably the LAST year he's doing this... but the kids LOVED IT!!

We have some crazy husbands!  They're great sports.

So much fun.

Then, on Monday night, we went to ANOTHER festival at Jason's brother's church.  More food, more games, and MORE CANDY.

But Jase had a great time.

Isn't that just the cutest little cowboy you've ever seen?

Complete with a "real life" cowboy belt buckle - from our Texan, calf-roping Uncle Mike.  It weighed as much as Jase, but completed his outfit perfectly!  And I must add, I MADE Jase's chaps and vest.  Jason doubted me, but I think they turned out to be adorable!

I'm glad I have a whole year to recover from this past weekend. :)

Reese's Goodness

If you aren't in to Pinterest, you should definitely check it out!  It's a website with loads and loads of recipes, craft ideas, home decorating tips, ALL SORTS OF THINGS.  You find things you like, pin them to your board, and then you can go back to them whenever you get ready to put them to use.

I recently found this recipe using my FAVORITE candy of all time - Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

I could not wait to try it and it was great!  I've never made a cheesecake before, thinking it would be easy to screw up.  But it was no trouble at all.

Hope you have a chance to try this fabulous dessert!

What's for Lunch?

My mother recently told me about this soup that she found at the grocery store.  I couldn't wait to try it.  I'm not sure which "flavor" she chose, but I chose Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken.  I love tomato soup, but this is NO ordinary tomato soup.  I promise, and my mother agrees, that these Bertolli Meal Soups taste just as good as something you would order in a restaurant.

You can find these in your freezer section (mine was near the frozen lasagna dinners and such).  They aren't extremely expensive (somewhere around $5.00) for the quality, however when they say "Meal for 2," they mean it.  I made my soup for lunch one day, and I ate almost the whole thing.  2 full bowls is about all you're going to get.  So if you have a hungry husband who's going to eat with you, you better buy 2!

All you do is simply add water and let it come to a boil.  And that's when the magic happens.  You would NEVER know this was a frozen meal.

I didn't see too many different options in our local grocery store, but maybe they will come out with more!  It's a must try... if you are a soup lover!

Friendship.....

I have a handful of people I call "best friends".  I know they'd be there if I needed them.  And in the past month, I've made even more great friends.  So many people showed their kindness to our family through Jase's accident and I was OVERWHELMED.  I realized that it is so important to have people to call on when you need them.

Never take those people for granted.

This week, Jase and I had a playdate with one of the people I call "besties" and her babies.  We had such a great time!!!  And I'm so thankful for our friendship.

Take a Whiff....

I am dying to smell these candles!

I made a trip to Bath and Body Works just about a week ago with my mother.  She wanted to smell the candles that everyone RAVES about.  She did end up purchasing a few.  I purchased some mini sizes of the Vanilla Bean Noel scent - lotion, body spray and shower gel.  I LOVE IT!

Now, I want to go back and smell these lovely candles.  I somehow missed these on my last couple of trips... and some have just recently been released.

Let me know if you have any of these, or would like to smell them also!!
I went to a friend's house just yesterday and she had this burning.  It was YUMMY!!  Not necessarily a "Fall" scent, but a year round scent!  Delicious.  Much better than the Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut.  Ias disappointed in it's "smelling power."

My mother bought this Spice candle and it smells just like the little red cinnamon candies that we all eat.  It was yummy!

Week 21 Update

Baby Jett is growing like a weed!!!

My back is killing me; but other than that, I can't complain too much.

Weight gain is still holding at 10-11 pounds (thank goodness.)  But not sure how much longer it'll stay that way!

Baby this week:
-He's weighing in at a whopping 3/4 of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long.
-His "flutters" have turned into kicks and nudges.... and occasionally, he pokes his butt (or possibly his head) up through my abdomen.  It is NOT very comfy.
-His eyebrows and eyelids are completely formed now.
-REM (Rapid Eye Movement) is now a part of his daily routine, which means he's capable of dreaming.  NEAT!
