We shall never forget...

Unfortunately, September 11th is a day we, as Americans, will never forget.

The magnitude to which that date holds meaning in our lives, and the impact it had on our entire nation.

We will never forget the lives lost.  And those lives changed forever.

Little Miracle

If you remember, one of my inspirational posts a few months ago was about technology.

I posted this pic of Baby Khloe in her mommy's belly.

Well, here she is!!!

After several months of trying to keep her sweet little self where she was safe and warm, it was finally her time to shine!

She graced us with her presence last week, and we got to meet her the day after she was born!
She's just perfect!

And Jase LOVED her!!!

Carwashing Fun

Jase helped his Daddy wash my car last week, and I found it to be a great photo opp (since I haven't taken any pictures of him since vacation!

Something else I've yet to mention, Daddy got a new toy.  I have to say, I'm so proud of him.  He always puts us first and he desperately needed a new truck.  He got a great deal from a great friend, and we're so happy for him!!  Way to go, Daddy!

My lovelies

My favorite part of the weekend (or anytime Daddy gets to be home with us in the morning) is to have Jase crawl up in the bed with us, snuggle his way right in the middle, and put his arms around our necks.

I love it... and I wouldn't trade those moments for anything.

Every now and then, he'll squeeze us really tight and I hear him say one of my favorite things,
"My 2 bestest friends."

That makes life worth living.

Week 14 Update

Well, another week has passed.

Still holding at 3 pounds gained, and I'm pretty proud of that.  Much better than last time.

I've been feeling very tired lately (like much more tired than the past few weeks), and my allergies are KILLING me.  We've had bad air quality and pollen levels here in Bama lately... not good for a pregnant asthmatic who's allergic to everything under the sun.  But I'll manage to make it through... just living off of Benadryl at the moment.

Baby this week:
-Baby can grasp, make facial expressions, and maybe even suck it's thumb!
-Baby is stretching out to nearly 3 1/2 inches, and 1 1/2 ounces, about the size of a lemon.
-Baby is also starting to develop lanugo, the fine, downy-like hair that covers its body.
-Kicking and punching are daily activities (which I think I've felt a time or two).

Mommy this week:

Hope you had a great labor day and enjoy your week to come!!

A little goodie...

A recipe for you... I've been craving spicy things lately, and this is perfect.

If you don't like heat, chances are, you won't like this... but otherwise, it's a quick and easy little snack - great for football season!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 packages of cream cheese
1 cup ranch dressing
3/4-1 cup Frank's Hot Sauce (or your favorite hot sauce)
1 1/2-2 cups cheddar cheese
4 small cans (or 2 large cans) chicken -  you can also use "real" chicken breasts, but this is much quicker.

Combine all ingredients and melt together over medium heat.  Can also be prepared in a crock pot.  If you want, you can sprinkle with a little extra cheese and let it get all nice and bubbly in the oven.

Serve with tortillas chips- or even veggie sticks.

The first time I made this, I wasn't sure if I liked it, but now I love it!!  Great little snack.

Great Ole Opry

Last weekend, our church (Christway Church of God in Gardendale, AL) presented its last year of the Great Ole Opry dinner show.  We've done this for several years, and it's time to take a break.  This year, we presented "The Best Of".... being our most popular acts over the past years.

We had a great turnout!!

And we have so much talent at our church.  We had awesome singing acts, as well as some silly skits.  I wanted to post some pictures so you could see just how much fun we had!

These were a few of the "celebrities" who performed:

The Judd's (this is just one half of the lovely ladies)

Jerry Clower

Patsy Cline

Reba McIntire

Johnny Cash

Alan Jackson

Carrie Underwood

Not the greatest picture, but my hubby and I had so much fun!  I think he could definitely pass as an Alan Jackson look alike. :)  He did a great job!!

Thanks to Jenny Lynn Photography for the great pictures!
