Weekend in Review...

Friday night, Jason's oldest brother got married!!!

I didn't take too many pics, but here's a few... (excuse the quality, as some were taken on my phone)

Saturday, Jase and I returned the tuxes and made a little pit stop at Cocina Superior and Yolo :)

Saturday evening, we had a birthday party for cousins Paige and Mallory - LOTS of fun when we all get together.

And then, Sunday after church, we relaxed until time to hang out at Grandmommy and Pop's house... eating, swimming, and cutting/coloring hair, and planking (the new craze)  :)

HOPE YOU HAD A FABULOUS WEEKEND!!!

Stay tuned for exciting news.

Clean and Clear

This week's inspiration is clear skin.

I've always had pretty clear skin, but lately, my hormones have been raging.

My skin is not at it's best, and it drives me bonkers!!!  It's especially difficult when you work in a makeup store... not too helpful in selling makeup :)  But people understand... it's life.

I recently bought a new product to try and I like it enough to share with you!  I think it has definitely been helpful for me and might be helpful for you.  Even if you don't have problem skin, you still might like to try it out.

Freeman's is a brand sold at Wal-Mart and most drugstores.  You can also buy it online at places like Amazon.

This is their Clay Mask with Mint and Lemon.  It's less than $4.

It claims to soothe skin and reduce inflammation caused by breakouts.  It also helps to control oil production and help reduce the appearance of large pores.

I have used it several times since I bought it a week ago.  It's easier for me to do at night, after I've washed my face.  But I have also used it in the morning.  If that's easier for you, just apply to clean skin, then jump in the shower.  By the time you are finished washing your hair, bathing and shaving, it'll be ready to rinse.  It dries and tightens up, leaving your skin feeling refreshingly clean, but not lacking in moisture.

And the best part, I really do think it's a great option for problematic skin.

Try it out!!

Gift with Purchase

If you are a Merle Norman fan, or would like to try something new and need somewhere to start, you should check your local store to find out if they are offering this special Gift with Purchase.

Our store, in Gardendale, Alabama, is a Gold Medallion store and we just started this promotion this past weekend.  All of Merle Norman's gifts are good, but the Gold Medallion gift is always awesome!!

In this promotion, you get a complete starter kit of the Purely Mineral makeup line.

Mineral makeup is so hot right now... and it's great for the summertime.

The gift is available with 2 cosmetic purchases (each store's requirement may differ slightly) and is WELL WORTH IT.

In the gift you will receive:

Purely Mineral Pressed Powder Makeup in ML40 (which is pretty much middle of the range)
Purely Mineral Bronzing Powder in Copper Radiance
Purely Mineral Blush in Rosy Outlook
Purely Mineral Eyeliner in Platinum
and a Mini Kabuki brush

This a great deal!

I hope you are able to take advantage of it!!!

Nutter Butter Banana Pudding

I made this on Friday night for our pool party!!  It was SCRUMPTIOUS!!!  And every last bit got eaten over the weekend.

You must try it out!

Ingredients:

4-5 medium/large ripe bananas
1 box vanilla instant pudding mix
2 cups of milk
1 block cream cheese (softened)
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 container Cool Whip
1 package Nutter Butter cookies

Mix 2 cups of milk with pudding mix and make to package directions.  Let rest in refrigerator until firm.  In the meantime, beat cream cheese and condensed milk until smooth.  Fold in Cool Whip.  Then fold this mixture into the pudding.

Cut bananas into slices.  Layer pudding mixture, Nutter Butter cookies, and bananas in a large bowl or casserole dish.  Keep refrigerated until time to eat!  (It's best to make 12-24 hours in advance, so allow cookies to soften.  I did 24 hours and it was perfect!)

That's it!!!  So easy and WONDERFUL!

Enjoy.

Sunset Inspiration

This picture doesn't do it justice... but it was SO PRETTY.

We got the weekend started off RIGHT!  Pool party!
My parents' pool was finally finished this past week and we had an official get-together last night.  It was so much fun!  Burgers, dogs, and banana pudding.
